Q: Are your products made with Stainless Steel?

A: Yes most of our products are made from stainless steel - 304 Grade (18/8). The first number,18, refers to the amount of chromium present and the second represents the amount of nickel. 304 grade can have 18-20% chromium and 8% nickel. It is the most common stainless steel used in the food prep / kitchen utensil market.

Q: Will your tea strainers work with coffee?

A: Great question. Our tea products are designed specifically for tea, but our customers have found some wonderful additional users including coffee, beer making (hops), spices for soups, stews, and braising, and mulling wine.  In fact a few customers have even used our tea strainers to clean small engine parts and dog training tools!

Q: I brew tea with small leaves and spices - how do I prevent tea debris?

A: The best solution to small particle tea debris is to do a "wash".  It is quite simple.  First fill a mug with hot water and dip your filled strainer into the mug.  Stir it around for about 10 seconds and remove.  You should see significant debris in the water.  Empty the mug and rinse and refill with hot water.  Now place the strainer into the fresh water but do not move the strainer for at least 2 mins.  Steep as you normally would and then remove the strainer.  This should eliminate the vast majority of tea debris.
